For many the idea of making a will is a turn off, but it is something we all need to do for the sake of our families and friends. By making a will, you can provide for the people you love and help to make things easier for them after you are gone.
While you are drawing up your will and making provision for your loved ones, you can also take the opportunity to help people who are homeless, using drugs and living in poverty. Leaving a legacy to Merchants Quay Ireland is an invaluable way to help some of the people in Ireland who never had a chance and offer them opportunities for change. It can be satisfying and reassuring to know that the people and the issues that you care about can be affected by your action even after death.
A legacy to Merchants Quay Ireland is free of inheritance tax. That means your entire bequest to us can be used where it's most needed.
What sort of legacy could I leave?
- A proportion of your estate.
- A fixed sum of money (a "pecuniary bequest").
- A particular item of value such as a painting or a piece of jewellery (a "specific bequest").

What if I have already made my will?
If you have already made a will, you can easily add a bequest to Merchants Quay Ireland as a codicil. A codicil is part of your will even though it is on a separate piece of paper, it is a valuable document and once signed and witnessed should be kept with your will.

We are constantly in need of computer equipment, printers, photocopiers, office furnishings and so on. We are grateful for whatever you can make available to us, but please keep in mind that obsolete equipment is not likely to be of any more use to us than it is to you. Second-hand equipment is gratefully received, as long as it works and is reasonably up to date.
