Fundraising - Introduction
Introduction
Merchants Quay Ireland is a voluntary organisation. That means we are independent of government and are non-profit making. Although we receive some funding from various government departments we very much depend on the generosity of the general public to allow us to sustain our work.
All assistance, whether of finance or of voluntary work, whether big or small is gratefully received and put to the best use. Drugs, homelessness and other social injustices can be tackled and with your help we can make a difference.
How you can help
- Make a Donation.
- You can Covenant money to us. This money will be used for research and so is tax deductible.
- You can include us in your will. Legacies are always welcome and ensure that your money is put to good use even after you are gone.
- You can make a Gift in Kind.
- You can offer professional services at a reduced rate or for free.
- You can help us by volunteering to work in our services.
- If you are an employer there are a number of ways you can help us.
- You can use your influence to persuade others to help.
What your legacy / donation can do:
€100 will cover the food costs for a typical day's lunch for 40 homeless persons in our Open Access Services.
€1000 will cover the costs of providing supportive counselling for a person suffering a crisis - perhaps facing eviction or trying to cope with the death of a loved one due to a drugs overdose.
€10,000 covers the full costs of assisting a person to become drug free through participation on our 17 week residential detoxification and drug free programme at High Park.
€25,000 would cover the costs of buying a van to be used by our settlement and integration team to assist, both individuals and families, to resettle and engage in follow up work as appropriate.
€50,000 will cover the costs of employing a full time drugs counsellor for a year. Our existing staff numbers are unfortunately insufficient to cope with additional demand for such services.
